CONDOS AND TOWNHOUSES IN HUGE DEMAND

If you are living in a condo or townhouse and have been thinking about up-sizing to a house, now couldn’t be a better time.  There is a huge demand for attached properties and the supply can’t keep up with the number of buyers.  If you try selling your condo or townhouse now you can benefit from multiple offer scenarios and most likely sell your home above asking price.

DEMAND FOR DETACHED PROPERTIES SOFTENED

The demand for detached properties (eg. houses) have softened since last year.  This market is not experiencing the buyer frenzy as attached properties so you do have some negotiating power as a buyer.  The prices for houses have not increased as much as condos or townhouses from last year so now is a good chance to SELL HIGH AND BUY LOW!

Fall is here and Summer is officially over…

I’m sad to say goodbye to the sunscreen and beach getaways.  But I also can’t help feeling relieved to be back to the usual school and work routine.  The Fall Real Estate Market typically starts out strong which is something I am looking forward to.

  • Average days to sell
  • How many active listings in an area

HIGHLIGHTS FROM THE BCREA REPORT FOR FEBRUARY 2015:

  • Housing Demand Remained Elevated in February
  • A total of 6,661 residential unit sales were recorded by the MLS in February, up 19.4 per cent from the same month last year
  • Total sales dollar volume was $4.3 billion, an increase of 24.8 per cent compared to a year ago.
  • The average MLS® residential price in the BC rose to $639,405, up 4.5 per cent from the same month last year
  • Consumer demand remained robust in February on the strength of rock bottom interest rates and improving economic conditions
  • Total active listings on the market were down 7.5 per cent from a year ago
